Harry and the beer festival...
Boston Spa Beer Festival will be home to the unique Harry Gration Ale, courtesy of Brown Cow brewery in Selby.
The renowned BBC Yorkshire presenter will be launching the beer on behalf of the Festival on 1st February, in advance of the opening night on the 19th. A “light, hoppy number”, the beer (not Harry) will be one of over 40+ Yorkshire beers (including a Mystery Ale and a Festival Ale from Rooster brewery) on offer at the 2nd Boston Spa Beer Festival. Harry commented:
“I must admit to liking the odd pint of real ale, only now and again of course, so to have my very own beer is such an honour! It has to be full bodied with a lot of Yorkshire character! It's great to see so many local beers will be featured at the Boston festival, because brewing in the region is so vital to the economy. “

The Festival is run by a group of fathers of children at St Mary’s School, Boston Spa. The event aims to raise funds for the Creating Space campaign for St Marys School, which needs to build a new classroom to accommodate the increasing numbers of primary school children in the village. Equally funds will be given to the Village Hall in order to assist with restoration of the unique glass clock tower.
Harry Gration was particularly keen to support the festival because of its importance to the local school:
"As a former teacher I know how important it is to raise extra money to support pupils in their learning, and the way the parents are pulling together at St. Mary's to fund the new classrooms is fantastic!'
